The following is a testimonial from Amy Hagerman, a Staffing Supervisor at the Anderson Branch of MAU Workforce Solutions.
Tell us about your job function at MAU. How do you serve Applicants, Clients, and/or Employees?
I am the Staffing Supervisor at the Anderson Office. I serve applicants be continually working to improve process flow in the office so that it is as convenient and clear as possible. I serve clients by providing the highest quality candidates for their openings and by trying to go above and beyond in the area of customer service. I serve employees by accommodating their work schedules in the requests that I make and by being a confidant/mediator when it comes to overcoming challenges at the client site.
How long have you worked for MAU? How did you get your start here?
I have been with the company for a year now and got my start when I called the office to inquire about an internal opening. Luckily for me, there happened to be one at the time. I submitted my resume, went through the hiring process, and started in September of 2011. God willing, I plan to make this my work home for the duration of my career.
Why do you like working for MAU?
I like working for MAU because of the company-wide climate. I feel that the company is run with integrity, moral conviction, generosity, and kindness. The way I am treated here is the way I always wished I had been treated at the other companies I’ve worked for. It has been my experience that the owners and internal employees are in business to make money like everyone else, but (unlike everyone else) they are not willing to compromise their standards in order to do so.
What sets MAU apart from other staffing companies? Or other companies in general?
As stated above, what sets MAU apart is the way in which they do business. The mission statement is clearly more than just words. It is employed in our daily activities. From an internal standpoint, what makes MAU different from other companies in general is the longevity of the staff. These days, it seems that job hopping is the rule rather than the exception. Sometimes, it is the only way to improve one’s position. MAU clearly treats their internal employees in such a way that wins their loyalty. The clients and associates are given the same respect and consideration; and that’s why I think we have so may long standing relationships.
What do you think is the best thing MAU offers to its Applicants, Clients, and Employees?
I think the best thing MAU offers its applicants, clients, and associates is a commitment to finding solutions to the obstacles they face in achieving their respective goals. There is a creativity, a unique perspective, foresight in business concepts, and (most importantly) a genuine concern for all involved.
Tell us about your job function at MAU. How do you serve Applicants, Clients, and/or Employees? I am a Staffing Specialist with MAU. I serve the Applicants, Clients, and/or Employees by offering the best service that I am capable of offering. I interview applicants as they come and apply or over the phone to try and find the best fit for them and what they are looking for. I address the client's needs and ensure that they are met in a timely manner and continue to build strong relationships with them. I check in with our associates after they have been placed to ensure that it is the best fit for them and that they are content. I also encourage them to inform me of any problems that may arise. In general, with all three levels, I am constantly trying to build stronger relationships and earn their trust to ensure that everyone is completely satisfied.
How long have you worked for MAU? How did you get your start here? I have worked for MAU for three and a half years. I first got my start with MAU a few weeks after I graduated from college. Jennifer Brown found my resume on CareerBuilder and called me in for an interview for a receptionist position that she had available. A few weeks later, I began my career with MAU!
Why do you like working for MAU? I love working for MAU. MAU is not just a job that you go to everyday in order to make a living. We are more like a family, a family who wants only the best for one another and who wishes everyone to succeed. MAU is always concerned for the well-being for their internal staff, associates, applicants, and clients and are always striving to make any improvements to better ensure their well-being.
What sets MAU apart from other staffing companies? Or other companies in general? I believe that MAU's general sense of caring about everyone and constantly seeking ways to better themselves for the benefit of our associates, clients and applicants is what sets them apart from other staffing companies and other companies in general. We treat every applicant on the same level as we would our most valued client and that in itself shows what kind of company MAU is and what we have to offer.
What do you think is the best thing MAU offers to its Applicants, Clients, and Employees? I believe that the best thing that MAU offers to our Applicants, Clients and Employees is that we want everyone to succeed on all levels. We want everyone to feel our presence and know that we will do everything that we possibly can to service them which builds and strengthens our relationships with them and gains their trust.
Tell us about your job function at MAU. How do you serve Applicants, Clients, and/or Employees? My main function is to key an accurate payroll each week, which in turn keeps the employees happy. I feel it’s a trickle down effect when the employees receive their pay in a timely fashion. Their moral is up which allows them to give our clients their best performance on their job duties.
How long have you worked for MAU? How did you get your start here? I’ve been at MAU for 4 years. I came in to apply for an administrative assistant job in general and was interviewed the same day. Due to having a payroll background, I was told the branch was in need of someone. I was given some tests that day and it went from there. Within the week I was offered the branch coordinator position.
Why do you like working for MAU? I like working for MAU because it’s a great place to work. It has always been a warm and friendly environment to work in. MAU cares about their employees and their mission statement on the back of the MAU business card was enough for me.
What sets MAU apart from other staffing companies? Or other companies in general? The warm and friendly atmosphere sets MAU apart from other companies. You have a sense of belonging to a family instead of just a company you work for. Above all it is one of the best companies I’ve had the opportunity to work for.
What do you think is the best thing MAU offers to its Applicants, Clients, and Employees? One of the best things that MAU offers is different incentive programs. Throughout the year they try to keep the applicants, client, and employees involved with MAU as a whole.
Tell us about your job function at MAU. How do you serve Applicants, Clients, and/or Employees? I am a receptionist. I assist all applicants as they come in or call in. I help other employees and clients by pre-screening applicants for potential positions that are available or may be available.
How long have you worked for MAU? How did you get your start here? I have worked for MAU for 8 months. I was referred by my husband and went in and applied.
Why do you like working for MAU? It’s a very good company….a lot of good opportunities and great co-workers.
What sets MAU apart from other staffing companies? Or other companies in general? I had never gone to a staffing company before MAU. In other companies in general, I like the fact that the highest person in the office can go down to the receptionist level and be able to go into the system and use it…and help anyone that comes into the office.
What do you think is the best thing MAU offers to its Applicants, Clients, and Employees? I think the best thing MAU offers its applicants, clients, and associates is respect and good opportunities!

“I have been with MAU for 10 years and what I like best about working for MAU is the opportunities I have had to learn and grow. Besides the tuition reimbursement program, I have found people in every department I have worked who are willing to share their knowledge with me.”- Jo Ann Christopher, Staff Accountant
