June 2012 OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Course

The 10-hour program is ideal for supervisors with safety and health responsibilities, and for employee safety and health awareness. Students will be introduced to OSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industry safety and health principles covered in OSHA Act Part 1910. Special emphasis will be placed on areas most hazardous using OSHA standards as a guide. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA general industry safety and health 10-hour course completion card from the Department of Labor.

Each course attendee will receive current OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Manual as part of the registration fee.

Deadline for registration is June 20th, 2012. Minimum required class size is 15.

Course Topics

  1. Introduction to OSHA: at least 1 hour
  2. Walking and Working Surfaces (includes fall protection): at least 1 hour
  3. Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection: at least 1 hour
  4. Electrical: at least 1 hour
  5. Personal Protective Equipment: at least 1 hour
  6. Hazard Communication: at least 1 hour
  7. Other additional topics may be covered. Will be determined by instructor and posted one month in advance of course. May include:
  • Safety & Health Programs
  • Ergonomics
  • Blood Borne Pathogens & Intro to Industrial Hygiene
  • Flammable and Combustible Liquids
