Making Lives Better with United Way in the CSRA
May 16, 2017 7:35:00 PM

PROJECT SERVE 2017:

Each year, volunteers from several local companies spend the day volunteering with United Way and non-profit agencies throughout the CSRA. These volunteers help complete projects such as painting, yard work, cleaning, playground construction, and basic repairs. This year MAU Workforce Solutions joined The Lydia Project to help make lives better for girls and women battling cancer.

As a family-owned company deeply rooted in our community, we believe that involvement in our local communities is a key responsibility of our organization. Our mission of contributing to both local and national organizations is one that has helped drive MAU from our inception. When the opportunity came about to join forces with the United Way of the CSRA we jumped at the chance to help Project Serve for the third consecutive year!

Having the opportunity to volunteer with The Lydia Project for Project Serve 2017 was an added bonus. Members of our MAU family started the day with prayer before digging into some yard work outside of the Lydia house and cleaning of the guest rooms and common areas inside. It was a privilege to dedicate our time and resources to such a wonderful non-profit organization.

The mission of The Lydia Project is to provide cancer patients support for their financial and emotional needs, including lodging services, in order to facilitate their treatment and healing. Women and girls receive diverse and supportive services at Lydia including emergency relief services, lodging services, support program, the Lydia tote program, and transportation services. If you or someone you know is interested in giving your time or resources to help support The Lydia Project, please reach out to contactus@thelydiaproject.org.

MAU is proud to partner with organizations like The Lydia Project and United Way of the CSRA. Through partnerships like these, we are able to help further our mission to make lives better! We would like to give a heartfelt, “thank you,” to the United Way of the CSRA for continuing to unite and mobilize the strengths of the CSRA’s finest nonprofit agencies, government agencies, companies, faith-based groups, and caring individuals.
