Adjuster/Resolutions Manager

Who is the Adjuster and why do they matter?

MAU hires an administrative company to manage our Workers Compensation claims. Some claims may not require direct adjuster communication, but typically you will hear from your adjuster within the first 48 hours of your claim being filed. They will typically have an out of state number. THIS IS NOT SPAM. Please answer their call. If you refuse your adjuster’s call, it could lead to the denial of your claim. If you do not hear from your adjuster, please reach out to your Workers Compensation department for assistance.

Out of Work

Out of Work (OOW)

If you are sent OOW by a medical provider as a result of your workers compensation injury, here are some things you’ll need to know:

  • Attendance points:

    • If you are written OOW by your doctor due to a work-related injury, you will not receive attendance points against you.

  • How you are paid while out:

    • Benefits are paid through our adjusters. For a more thorough explanation of benefits, this can be discussed with your adjuster.

  • How to pay your insurance premiums?

    • MAU will continue your health benefits during your leave period, under the same conditions as if you had continue working, as long as premium payments are made. Employee premiums are the deductions you see on your paycheck. For question about your benefits feel free to email benefits@mau.com or call 706.823.2349.

Return to Work and Restrictions

Return to Work and Restrictions

If during the life of your claim you are sent out of work, the Workers’ Comp office along with your adjuster will work with your client site and MAU supervisor to help return you as safely as possible. If a medical provider gives you restrictions, we will collaborate to accommodate those as best as possible. If for any reason we are unable to accommodate, and you remain out of work you will continue to be covered by Workers’ Comp benefits.
