MAU, Inc. Receives Supplier/Distributor of Year from MBDC

(Sept 5, 2004) - MAU Inc., a full-service provider of human resource, staffing, professional and outsourcing services, proudly accepted the Georgia Statewide Minority Business Development Center (MBDC) award for Supplier/Distributor of the Year 2004 during the 22nd Annual Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Awards luncheon on August 16 in Atlanta, Ga.

MED Week is jointly sponsored by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The MBDA selects award recipients from nominations submitted by both public and private sectors. MAU Inc. is a Native American-owned business, certified through the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

"We are honored to receive this award and to be recognized on a statewide level as a designer of workforce solutions that strategically enhance the competitive advantage of our clients," stated Randy Hatcher, the president of MAU Inc.

Operated through the Georgia Tech Economic Development Institute, the center is intended to help minority business owners get started or expand their operations by providing advice in areas such as working with lenders and improving information systems. Program participants said they are working on plans to better reach out to other Georgia cities.

"I think it would be very worthwhile," Hatcher further stated. "I think there is a real need for someone to centrally coordinate the business efforts of minority business owners throughout the state."
