If you started your job search on Google recently, you should have seen their new feature: Google for Jobs. The search engine is trying to simplify the job search process by using machine learning-trained algorithms to sort and filter postings from across the web to display results that best match your query.


Here’s a handy guide that will tell you what you need to know about Google for Jobs and how to use it.

You don’t have to have a Gmail account to search for jobs, but if you would like to set up alerts and see commute time (if available, will be shown above the job description), you will need to set up an account.


Many job seekers already turn to Google to start their job search, and now it’s turned into a more powerful tool to make finding the job that you’re looking for easier. While Google for Jobs does a great job sorting and filtering results from across the web, it does not pull in every single job posted online, so don’t limit your search to just Google.
