MAU 101: How Do You Apply for a Job with a Staffing Agency?
September 16, 2020 12:00:00 PM

In our second {{cta(‘ff5dfbbd-694b-4f34-b344-f3eb30aa81c6’)}} in the MAU 101 series, you learned why you should work with a staffing company. Now, we will go over how you can apply to work with a staffing company.

Without further ado, here are three different ways to apply for a job with a staffing company.

1.) Apply Through Job Boards

Most staffing agencies have a {{cta(‘9acbb1e0-f673-4b82-b429-91e88fe0d526’)}}. However, many also promote their jobs on various aggregate boards, like {{cta(‘1aba867b-e6dc-410b-9954-0d003cf71bb0’)}}, {{cta(‘4bdfed4c-8f1a-491e-92fa-3c6950edf6d6’)}}, and {{cta(‘ae38983a-e537-4f94-878e-ebf48ca9f8fe’)}}. Many MAU branches also partner with their local and state job boards and career centers to post their jobs.

2.) Attend a Job Fair or Hiring Event

Staffing agencies often hold hiring events at their office, job sites, colleges, or even community partners’ locations. At these hiring events, you sign in and interview for available positions that day. Staffing agency hiring events can be focused on a particular industry or employer, or they could be for a wide variety of jobs. Learn more about hiring events and how to prepare for them {{cta(‘06816136-09eb-4f19-abc8-44673da17b36’)}}.

Virtual hiring events act similarly to in-person hiring events. However, instead of printing out your resume and showing up, you would fill out a form or send your resume electronically to sign in to receive a phone call or video interview. Along with in-person and virtual hiring events, some companies also host drive-thru hiring events, where you are interviewed from the comfort of your car.

3.) Visit Your Local Branch

For a time, individuals were not allowed to walk into staffing agencies’ offices due to social distancing and initial safety concerns. However, with the world slowly adapting to its new sense of normalcy, walk-ins are now acceptable as long as appropriate safety measures are taken.

At MAU, safety for all comes first. So, while walk-ins are allowed, we are currently conducting contact-free walk-in interviews. This looks a little different for every branch, but all MAU branches have implemented safety measures including mask requirements, sanitizing stations, increased cleaning practices, and social distancing.

You can find the MAU branch locations and hours by visiting {{cta(‘6affcbc2-edc6-43d0-95e1-4f802888fc76’)}} and clicking the locations drop-down menu.

No matter where you are in life or what your comfort level is for applying, there’s an option for you.
