Branch Spotlight: All About Augusta Office Services

Mr. Hatcher expanded MAU’s services in 1975 to include office staffing services. He created Ms. Power and Ms. Temps to help recruit direct-hires and provide temporary staffing for clients. Over 40 years later, his expansion has now become a full division of MAU Workforce Solutions – Augusta Office Services.

Augusta Office Services is one of three hiring divisions that is housed at the MAU headquarters. The team works with clients in a multitude of job sectors including Customer Service, Real Estate, Banking, Medical, and more. Today we’re highlighting the men and women that work to make the Augusta Office Services team so successful.

Centrally located in beautiful downtown Augusta, GA, MAU Augusta Office Services can be found within the company’s headquarters at 501 Greene Street. In this prime location, the Augusta Office Services team is ideally located with easy access to both clients and applicants.

Meet the Augusta Office Services Team

Trey Allen – Operations Manager

Trey Allen

Trey has been with MAU since 2013. Trey began his time with MAU as an Associate Relations Leader at one of MAU’s client’s locations. Now as an Operations Manager, Trey leads the Augusta Office Services team. 

Trey will say this is his first real job working for someone else, and he doesn’t think he could have picked a better place. He loves the people that he has been able to work with, and he says they really are like family. One of Trey’s favorite memories is from one of MAU’s Thanksgiving dinners.  During his first year at MAU, Trey was able to sit next to the company’s founder as they shared dinner and a conversation.

Trey says that he feels blessed that this is the first and hopefully only place that he’ll ever work. 

Fun Fact: Trey was in the first class through Davidson Fine Arts School in Augusta where he built an interest in theater. 

Margie Hair – Senior Recruiter

Margie Hair

MAU welcomed Margie to the family in 2011. She started her career as a Staffing Specialist and has moved up the ranks to Senior Recruiter. Margie loves all the opportunities she has to meet people and learn from their different experiences. She enjoys listening to her candidates and introducing them to positions they had previously thought they wouldn’t like or didn’t know if they would be a good fit, especially when they turn out to be the perfect fit. 

One thing about MAU that Margie appreciates is the family environment. She says that you know that the people care about you individually in what you’re doing and where you’re going. She also loves how they’re always looking for ways to improve.

Fun Fact: Margie sings in the contemporary band at her church. Her favorite artists to sing include Lauren Daigle, Hillsong and Chris Tomlin. 

Melita Latislaw – Senior Staffing Specialist

Melita LatislawMelita started with MAU as a Receptionist for the team in 2014 and has since been promoted to a Senior Staffing Specialist. As a Senior Staffing Specialist, she enjoys assisting candidates to find future employment. Melita loves her team. She says that it doesn’t matter what’s going on, her teammates are always willing to step up and help each other. Melita also says that she appreciates the support she receives from her supervisor and upper management. She knows that they believe in her capability to find the right person for the job.

Melita’s favorite MAU memories are from when she helped the company expand by training new MAU family members in Ogden, Utah.

Fun Fact: Melita played the violin for 14 years. Some of the highlights of her musical career include being able to play with the Augusta Symphony and at the Governor’s mansion. Her favorite genre of music to play was Bluegrass.

Mahogany McClurkin – Interviewer

Mahogany McClurkin

Mahogany has been with MAU since 2017. As an Interviewer, she loves interacting with candidates. Being able to help people get jobs and improve their quality of life gives her a sense of accomplishment. 

Mahogany loves the family-oriented environment. She feels like she has been surrounded by people who care since the beginning of her time with MAU. Her favorite memory is also one of her first. Mahogany remembers sitting down for her interview with Senior Director, Steve King and having a real heart-to-heart with him. She said that he made her feel at ease coming to work here. 

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Mahogany does freelance painting. She loves doing Afro-centric and fantasy type paintings. 

Alicia Webber – Staffing Specialist

Alicia Webber

Alicia started with MAU in 2016. She started her career with MAU as an Interviewer and  has since transitioned to a Staffing Specialist. In her role, Alicia loves getting to meet new people and learn new things from every candidate that she meets. She also appreciates the flexibility she has when scheduling her day. 

Alicia enjoys the family environment. Being able to celebrate birthdays and meeting with her team make up some of her favorite memories at MAU. During these times, as well as others, Alicia says she can tell how much MAU really cares about their employees.

Fun Fact: Alicia grew up in an extremely diverse family. Growing up, she was able to experience both the Ethiopian and Hispanic cultures without ever having to leave the States. 

Chaela Sparks – Receptionist

Chaela Sparks

Chaela is the newest member of the team. She joined in late 2018. While she has only been with the team for a short time, she loves how warm and welcoming everyone has been. Chaela has really appreciated all of the training that she has received from the team and her supervisors. She said that during this whole process she has never felt lost or confused. She says she feels really well taken care of during her time with Augusta Office Services so far.

Fun Fact: Chaela loves to travel. So far she has been to Canada and multiple countries in Europe including Spain, France, Italy, and Monaco. However, Italy has been her favorite by far.

Evans Towne Center Park

Evans Towne Center ParkHome to the Lady Antebellum Pavilion, Evans Towne Center Park hosts several events throughout the year including concerts, farmer’s markets, movie nights, cultural festivals and more. The area is open to the public to enjoy the outdoor greenspace and includes a playground.

 

 

Downtown Augusta

Downtown Augusta - Riverwalk

Considered the heart of Augusta, the downtown area is full of restaurants, attractions and nightlife. Downtown is also home to the Riverwalk which is known for its beautiful view and trail along the Savannah River. Open to the public with affordable parking and easy walkability, Downtown Augusta has something for everyone. 

Surrey Center

Surrey CenterSurrey Center is a very popular Shop, Dine and Play area in the Augusta metro area. Restaurants with all different cuisines, trendy boutiques and southern style staples line the three-level outdoor shopping center. There are also multiple salons and spas throughout Surrey Center. No matter your taste, you can find at least one way to treat yourself.
