During the months of July and August, members of the MAU Family partnered with their local United Way to help make sure students in their communities were prepared to go back to school!
United Way is a global service organization that works to "improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good." With involvement in 1,800 different communities in 40 different countries and territories, MAU is a proud partner of United Way as we work towards making lives better.
On Friday, July 27, MAU Augusta branch partnered with the United Way of the CSRA for its annual Stuff the Bus event.
Stuff the Bus is a back-to-school donation drive where businesses, organizations and individuals come together with United Way of the CSRA to fill a school bus full of school supplies for deserving children within the community.
This was MAU’s second consecutive year giving donations and helping with the drive on the day of the event. MAU began collecting on Monday, July 16, 2018. Items donated included items such as backpacks, binders, notebook paper, crayons, pens, and more.
MAU family members that represented the company the day of the drive include: Alicia Webber, Mahogany McClurkin, Jim Sheehan, Melita Latislaw, Ryan Patrick and Delorion Williams. Heather McNitt acted as the liaison between United Way and MAU and helped to coordinate the gathering of donations and our volunteers.

The BMW team turned their drive into a competition between the different departments. The team that filled the most bags with school supplies won a pizza party!
The winning team, consisting of Brandi Granger, Brent Gentry, Eric Woody, Adrian Bennon, Adam Bullard, Stacey Young, Dave Agresti, Phil Coleman and James Dunlap, filled an amazing 24 bags!
All together, the on-site team of 38 employees were able to donate enough supplies to fill 44 bags for the local children!
We want to give a huge shout out to all those who donated their time, talents, prayers as well as those who gave donations.
We also want to give a special thank you to United Way for always finding ways to take care of our communities and allowing us to work alongside you.
With your help, we were able to help make the lives of so many local students better as they start school this month!
