Looking for a job can be very overwhelming. Trust us, we know. For example, most staffing companies offer different options: direct-hire, contractor, temp-to-hire, etc. In this blog, we will explain the difference between all of them.

At this point, we’re sure you’re pretty confident building a resume, and {{cta(‘530d27c7-4d31-4aa5-bfb2-77e10d7faeef’)}}. That is why we wanted to complement our {{cta(‘3c854cef-09e7-47be-8ab3-d5cbd41b9527’)}} and explain the different types of jobs you can find in the market.

CONTRACTOR

What is it?
A contractor position is one of the most common job types you will find when applying through a staffing agency. In this type of job, you will be hired by the staffing agency, in this case MAU Workforce Solutions, and you will report to them.

What are the benefits?

    • Some world-leading companies don’t make direct-hires for several reasons that you can find here. Many times, the only way to access those companies is working through a staffing agency.
    • Working on temporary assignments with a staffing agency can allow you to show a stable work history through one company (MAU) instead of jumping around with different companies.

TEMP-TO-HIRE

What is it?
With this type of job, you are hired by the Staffing Agency, and after a certain amount of time, you could be employed by the client directly. For example, MAU is currently hiring for the MAU team at Yamaha, and after thirty days you have the opportunity to be hired by Yamaha directly.

What are the benefits?

    • You could be hired directly by the client after a certain amount of time; this typically comes with additional benefits than the initial ones.
    • You can experience the job responsibilities before being hired by the client directly.

DIRECT-HIRE

What is it?
A direct-hire job is when the staffing company hires you to work directly for a company. The client uses a staffing agency to handle their recruitment process; and once hired, applicants will work for the client’s company directly. Employees will generally receive the benefits that the company offers.

What are the benefits?

    • You are hired directly by the client, which means you get the benefits the company offers.
    • The hiring process is streamlined, and it allows you to get your foot-in-the-door at highly desired companies quickly.

INTERNAL

What is it?
Staffing Agencies have a team of their own! They need a whole internal team from recruiters, clerks, and human resources staff to on-site shift managers and trainers. These jobs  typically require a degree or relevant experience.

What are the benefits?

    • There are many opportunities to grow when you work for a staffing agency; we have amazing success stories of people who joined the team as an entry-level position and are now managers.
    • You can MAKE LIVES BETTER. One of the great things about working for a staffing agency is that you can positively impact a person’s life. We hear beautiful stories about people who overcame a lot of obstacles. Don’t hear it from us; hear it from Jessica May, one of our virtual recruiters. If you want to see her whole story, {{cta(‘a485e500-24ce-42ac-b749-066677bdfa7a’)}}.
