January 9, 2020 9:15:00 PM

Countless individuals are saying to themselves they will pursue their dream job as they enter 2020, forming New Year’s Resolutions and vowing a commitment to change in the new year.

They know they can accomplish their new goals, but also know it is likely to be a mental challenge. Not because of things they can control, but because of the things they can’t. This challenge is shared by many employers, as they cannot control the effects of the unemployment rate.

On the one hand, this represents an advantage for candidates. On the other hand, the unemployment rate continues to hit historic lows in many areas of the country, and job openings typically outweigh the supply of available candidates.

However, employers can take advantage of the increased interest in new jobs.
