February 29, 2016 3:23:28 PM

This is part two in a series on improving your employer brand presence in 2016. Click here to read part one!

As we talked about in part one of this blog, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the January 2016 employment data, noting that job openings rose by 151,000 and the unemployment rate remained steady at a low 4.9%. This is an indication that employee retention is even more critical. The good (and bad) news? A recent survey through Indeed found that more than 50% of US workers are considering a new job in 2016. So, while that may mean some of your workforce is considering a change, there has also never been a better time to strengthen your Employer Brand presence online. And fortunately, as job board usage continues to increase, you have the right tools at your fingertips.

logo_indeed-162453-edited.pngOnline job boards have grown exponentially in recent years and since data shows that a vast majority of job seekers are looking online, it’s critical to have your talent needs showcased on them. From CareerBuilder, Monster, SimplyHired, and many more, there is no shortage of places to share your opportunities with that 50% of employed individuals considering a career change this year. The world’s largest job board, Indeed, recently announced that it reached 200 million unique visitors in January alone. Posting a job to Indeed can be done almost instantaneously. In 2015, MAU increased its presence on Indeed and saw a dramatic increase of applicants. Referral traffic to the MAU job board increased nearly 400%!  And we are looking forward to that number growing more in 2016. What’s even better? With Indeed’s company pages, you can showcase your company’s brand there as well. Company pages offer a place to include images, your company profile, a full listing of positions open at your organization and even social media feeds, allowing applicants a chance to engage there as well. Candidates can also give your company reviews so encourage new employees to share their experience.

If you are looking to improve your Employer Brand presence, as well as engage new talent that will stay with you organization for a long time, consider using these platforms this year, not only to share job openings, but also to tell applicants about your company. As job openings continue to rise, along with employees confidence in finding new opportunities, it can only improve your talent and recruiting efforts!
